Experience the magic of Monument Valley on an exclusive backcountry adventure for two, guided by a local Navajo expert.
This 2.5-hour tour takes you deep into areas that are accessible only with a Navajo guide. Travel in an open-air safari-style vehicle (or an enclosed SUV in extreme weather) and witness the beauty of the valley’s famous landmarks, such as West and East Mitten Buttes, Totem Pole and many more natural wonders.
Your journey will include stops at some of Monument Valley’s most famous sites, including the 3 Sisters, John Ford Point and Moccasin Arch. You’ll also have the chance to marvel at lesser-known but equally impressive locations like the Big Hogan, Sun’s Eye, North Window and Sleeping Dragon. As you explore, your Navajo guide will share stories of the valley’s cultural and historical significance, giving you deeper insight into this majestic landscape.
A highlight of the tour is a visit to a traditional Navajo Hogan, where you’ll watch a rug weaving demonstration and enjoy a private ceremonial music performance. This intimate experience blends adventure with cultural discovery, creating memories you’ll never forget.

Important Information
- The tour operates on Utah time (Mountain Daylight Time), so please plan your visit accordingly if traveling from Arizona.
- In warm weather, the tour will be in an open-air vehicle. In hot or cold conditions, an enclosed SUV will be used for comfort.
- This tour is not recommended for infants younger than 1 year old or for women more than 5 months pregnant due to rough terrain.
