Ce deuxième long jeu de compositions originales paraîtra ainsi trois ans après l’album Limoilou, qui avait introduit son folk triste au grand public. La nouvelle tournée de Safia débutera le 18 octobre au Théâtre Outremont, à Montréal, et inclut XX dates en France au mois de décembre et plus de XX dates au Québec. Les chemins, premier extrait de l’album, est accompagné d’une captation live, à la fois grandiose et lugubre, réalisée par Jean-François Sauvé. Écrite en décembre 2016 lors d’une résidence de création au Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, en Alberta, Les chemins aborde la façon dont l’éventualité de la mort influe sur notre vie et nos relations. Tant que la mort n’est pas loin / Je pourrai passer, chante Safia dans un registre haut perché, complètement captivant et bouleversant, qu’on ne lui connaissait pas jusqu’à présent.
